Hallinta-Bookcases are only build as a custom work. They are always
made according to the measurements to fit the location they are placed.
Why do we use only solid wood as our base material? Because solid
wood is a guarantee of quality and endurance. Shelves made of solid
wood won’t bend under the weight of books and side binding won’t
break. A bookcase made of solid wood will last at least as long as
your house.
You can choose the base material from birch to walnut, from oak to
beech or anything between them. Tell us the tone scale you prefer
and we will recommend wood species to you. The frame material of a
shelf is usually 20mm, 30mm or 40 mm thick.
There are no standards how deep shelves are and how high space there
is between shelves or where vertical support is placed. Dimensions
are always made to suit the location best. Most shelves are 25 - 40
cm deep depending on the need of storage space. The space between
shelves can vary inside a shelf unit – You can always get an
optimal hight for your books. We place vertical supports so that the
result is beautiful, balanced and functional.
Our shelf units have normally a white back panel. It can be either
painted other colour, veneered or removed altogether.
We have also designed a sliding door –component to the Hallinta-Bookcases.
You can use doors to cover the whole self unit or just one part of
it. The sliding doors can be made of tempered glass (clear, matt or
coloured) and veneered or painted board. You can always be sure that
the doors will work because solid wood shelves won’t bend.
Please tell us what kind of bookcase you need and we will make it
for you. In the GALLERY you find
examples of the bookcases we have made before. |
